The Plateau state government has ordered security men to clear major roads and streets in Jos of all street traders and hawkers just as it banned banned all motor parks in the central business area of Ahmadu Bello Way, Murtala Mohammed Way and the Terminus area.

State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Olivie Dazyam who issued a pree statement said that the order had become imperative following incessant killings in the areas. She said Tudun Wada, Chobe, Jenta, Dilimi, Kugiya-Bukuru and Rantya State Low Cost Junction were also affected by the ban.

Dazyem said that traders in the affected areas have been directed to relocate to the Rukuba Satellite Market. She advised the citizens of the state to stop patronising street markets, street traders and hawkers as such spots had become soft targets for terrorist attacks.
