Plateau Diaspora (UK) Association Wades into Seaman Goshit’s Matter, Demands Investigation

The Plateau State Association, UK has waded into the discussion about the viral video posted by Seaman Haruna Goshit,

Releasing a strongly worded open letter signed by the President (Mr Rwang Chall) and General Secretary (Ms Amina Asanga) and addressed to key officers of the Nigerian Navy and relevant authorities, the association noted that Seaman Goshit has raised alarming issues which border around bullying, issuance of threats and misconduct, which should be investigated, verified and resolved accordingly.

It wondered why a highly respected military establishment like the Nigerian Navy will be brought to disrepute in such a manner. It highlighted that citizen of Nigeria, including military personnel are entitled to basic human rights which cannot be trampled upon by anyone.

It expressed confidence in the process already set in place by the Chairman of the committee on the Nigerian Navy (Hon. Yusuf Gagdi) in getting to the bottom of the manner and called for appropriate measures to be taken to forestall future occurrence.

In closing the association maintained that it shall continue to monitor the issue very closely to ensure that justice is served.
