The elected secretary, Bashir Musan Sati defeated former Minister of State for Information and the state interim secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande with 903 votes against 244. Feenmac Pomac was announced deputy chairman and Joshua Madaki as legal adviser.

Most of the elected officials were said to be members of the “APC for All in Plateau” who in May submitted a petition at the party headquarters against the leadership style of General John Shagaya who was the interim chairman. They had called for the dissolution of the state executives.

Before the results were announced, Gen Shagaya said that there is a subsisting petition against the newly elected chairman whom he accused of serving as the special assistant to a sitting senator under the platform of the Labour party.

The congress committee chairman responded and said that his responsibility was to conduct election and not to look into petitions while calling on aggrieved party members to forward their petitions to the national body of the party.
