Barely a week after the PDP gubernatorial primaries in Plateau State, which led to the emergence of Sen. Gyang Pwajok as its flag bearer, a
group under the aegis of Movement for the Creation of South Plateau State [MCSPS] has called on the citizens of the State to as in the
interest of, “justice, equity and fairness”, vote for a governorship candidate from any political party, as far as he/she is from the
Southern Senatorial Zone of the State.

The group in a press statement signed by its Secretary, Research, Strategy, Media and Protocol, Evangelist Emmanuel Nanle, made
available to journalists in Jos, Tuesday.

It reads, “It is regrettable that series of protest preceding the PDP gubernatorial primary elections of Monday, 8th, December, 2014, by
majority of the aspirants and delegates did not compel a rethink and repeat of the process, thus rendering the emergence of our consensus
candidate from the Southern Senatorial Zone a near impossibility on the platform of the party.

The group which comprises wide range of stakeholders from eleven LGAs of Plateau Central and Southern Zones maintained that, “Our position
is to have all the gubernatorial candidates of various parties emerging from the Southern Zone.

“While the candidates in the PDP pursue the legitimate course of seeking redress and the All Progressive Congress [APC] presents their
flag bearer who has emerged from the southern zone, the MCSPS wishes to reiterate its determination in ensuring that the southern zone
produces the next governor.

Adding that, “This is in keeping with the Plateau spirit of brotherhood, integration and respect for the time-tested political practice of zoning and power shift that has kept Plateau as a united multi-ethnic society for all, where justice, equity and the fear of God reigns.

The group commended delegates in the last PDP governorship primaries, who stood by the clarion call and did not mortgage their consciences.

The statement call on the delegates, supporters, stakeholders, elders, youth, women and progressive forum committed to the good course of the movement, not to despair, assuring that wide consultations are ongoing.
