Pictures: Santos Ayuba holds service of thanks after ghastly motor accident

Erudite academic, political activist & social commentator – Mr. Santos Ayuba held a service of thanks on December 17th 2017 at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN Compound, 14 Dogon Dutse, Jos to express gratitude to God for his miraculous recovery from the ghastly auto-accident of 31st August 2015.

The service which commenced at 9:00 am was attended by friends, well-wishers, leaders of thought and family members. At the service, Santos reflected on the incidents that led to the ghastly auto-accident around 3 pm at Gidan Waya (en-route Abuja) and expressed gratitude to Almighty God for sparing his life and giving him another chance to serve humanity.

Speaking, he said “life changing events such as this teaches one key life lessons beyond what anyone can imagine, and as such it has consolidated my resolve to live a life of impact, value and charity”. He thanked his wife, family and friends for their steadfastness in prayer, goodwill and encouragement and prayed that God repays them a thousand fold.

As a mark of his thanksgiving, Santos  procured and distributed 15 wheel chairs to physically challenged individuals in various areas of the state. The gesture was done under the auspice of the Laraba Educational Empowerment Foundation (LEEF) i.e., a charity foundation named after his late Mother Laraba. The 15 wheel chairs were distributed at various centres in Plateau state including – Naraguta Leather Works village (2), Kagu – Pankshin (2), Gindiri (2), Bassa (2), Jos South (2) Mangu (3), Jos (3) and are to serve the purpose of giving a “societal lift” to vulnerable and physically challenged.

This would not be the first time Santos is being involved in such benevolent gestures. In the past, Santos as president of the Plateau State Chapter of the Rotary Society and founder of the Santos Charity Initiative empowered physically challenged and vulnerable individuals through social rehabilitation and the provision of mobility aids in Mangu Sabon Layi and other areas.
