Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong on Thursday commissioned Solar Mini Grid Electrification Projects at Demshin and Angwan Rina Communities in Shendam local government area of the state.
Speaking at the ocassion Governor Lalong said the sustainable effort of government in providing energy to the people is part of his administration pillar policy in developing the rural areas.
He said the strong effort of government in providing the dividends of democracy has brought about smiles in the hearts of the people has reduced the untold hardship witnessed by the people.
According to him “This commissioning is done in two phrases the solar mini grid and solar water heaters which when fully operational will boast power supply across the state.
Minister for power,works and housing Babatunde Fashola who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry said the federal government is doing its best to provide energy across the state.
He said this projects on solar is presently operational in five states of the federation which includes  kano, Abia, Sokoto,plateau and Lagos state’
“With this launch he charged the communities to take advantage of this laudable project
He called for more support from the people to the government.
German Ambassador represented by his deputy Mary Honsand said this would go a long way in solving the problems of rural dwellers in the state and also create employment opportunities to the people
Transition committee Chairman  of Shendam Local government Elias Nkwap  appreciated the state government and European union and German government for citing this project in Shendam as this would afford them an opportunity to use light and prove to the people of government,s commitment in providing facilities to the people
He urged the benefiting communities to protect the facility.
