Out of annoyance the Kenyan scholar Wa Thiongo calls  the African problem  “ a Language problem” again out of same annoyance Achebe says Africa is “people” hence, we have language culture and people and still do not understand such an age long problem  and arguments.why?

Many times I wonder, if policy makers take cognizance of culture before policy pronouncement, I wonder why political leaders failed to realized the nexus between culture, politics and its effect on development.  suddenly, the  reality presents itself, it all started with our educational system, leaders are product of the system- a system that pays more attention to GDP and statistics from world Bank, IMF and its related institutions to mean development index rather their immediate environment and culure .

Why the theory?

1. For  many household who couldn’t eat yesterday in Jos  because papa went to protest to government on issue of his welfare as a keke driver  – (People theory)
2. For the new life style of trekking distance because the cab driver had suddenly increased his charges from terminus to COCIN headquarters, now  N50 ( Emerging Culture )
3. For the ways many express their anger which will soon breakout if institution responsible continue to impose such sanctions ( Language of expression)

The introduction of  keke Napep ( tricycle) is not without a historical antecedents, on account of insecurity the former administration of Da. Jonah Jang  introduced the new culture of Keke whereas, the issue of the mutation even though apt, the process was faulty in time and space because the same “Okada boys” now turn “Keke boys”  at the level of implementation no process considered today was frivolous, the advance okada boy only needs a PT no without necessary orientation, peace again wasn’t a priority so not long curfew was imposed on the  “Keke boys” citing same “security challenge”

Whereas, the ban and enforcement of okada took effect, a total compliance was a mirage as the language showed that many still operate in Jos and Bukuru metropolis just yesterday when the advance team of the Okada riders were on strike, off cause the real owners were on the street of Jos for normal operation – as far as they are concerned it only affected keke  not okada.

To project into the future, your Excellency sir, let’s stop the violence and see the people through their language and culture at least for now and for the sake of peace which we all know as our greatest achievement.
