ORGANO BRAND IN A LEGAL TUSSLE FOR SWINDLING CUSTOMERS OF TWO HUNDRED MILLION NAIRA

The Plateau State High Court, sitting in Jos under the jurisdiction of Hon. Justice N.D Shasheet, has on October 4, 2023, granted an order for Mareva against Gourmet Brands Nigeria Limited. This injunction has the effect of freezing the assets of Organo Gold Products and Gourmet Brands Accounts.

In a suit filed by R.T Yilwatda Esq. on behalf of Mrs. Blessing Nenman Tangtur, who has reached the pinnacle of success within Organo by achieving the prestigious title of Blue Diamond, a position previously unattained by any agent of the company. Mrs. Tangtur contends that she and her customers collectively paid a staggering 200 million Naira for Organo products that were never delivered by the company. Additionally, she alleges that the 50 million Naira commission owed to her by Organo remains unpaid.

The lawsuit asserts that Gourmet Brands, the manufacturers of Organo Products, played a central role in this alleged swindling, failing to supply the products as promised. Moreover, there are suspicions that Organo Gold may be covertly planning to relocate out of the country without fulfilling its obligations to its customers.

In an interview with our correspondent, the Claimant’s counsel, R.T Yilwatda, disclosed that the Court Order has been served on Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) and Zenith Bank, both of which are expected to promptly comply by providing the Court with the defendant’s statement of accounts within a five-day timeframe.
