Operation Safe Haven at the weekend neutralised a cattle rustler and recovered 280 cattle rustled around Dogo Na Hauwa community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The cattle, which belonged to one Alhaji Abdulkareem Bayero, were said to have been grazing between Dogo Na Hauwa and Lafwei area when nine armed men engaged them and pursued the cattle into Rat in Foron district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

The taskforce’ Chief of Staff, Brigadier-General Mohammed Bello, yesterday told our report that one of the rustlers had been neutralised by the security agents.

He said: “All 280 cattle were recovered and handed over to the owners while the corpse of the rustler and the locally made rifle in his possession was handed over to the police.”
