The One Plateau Unity Forum held its inauguration ceremony for newly elected Executive members on August 2, 2025, at the Etsu Karu Palace in New Karu, Abuja. The event drew several high-profile attendees, including HRH Dr. Al-Hassan Yakmut, District Head of Chanso; Hon. Dr. I.D. Lalu, Member representing Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency; and Hon. Dr. Ubandoma Laven, Commissioner for Works, Plateau State, Hon. Ibrahim; the Deputy chairman of Karu LGA, Representative of Gbong Gwom Jos and many others.
During the ceremony, the newly elected Executive members took their oath of allegiance, pledging to serve with integrity. Dr. Longbap Dinfa Dangbin, the newly elected President, vowed to promote unity among political leaders, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and collective progress.

HRH Dr. Al-Hassan Yakmut, chairman of the occasion, advised the new Executive members to carry out their duties with fear and respect for God. This poignant reminder underscored the significance of moral leadership and accountability.
The event also featured three thought-provoking paper presentations. Hon. Dr. I.D. Lalu spoke on “Fostering Unity in Plateau State,” highlighting the challenges and opportunities for unity in the state. Hon. Dr. Ubandoma Laven’s presentation, “Assessing Democratic Dividend and Economic Impact on Communities,” offered valuable insights into the economic implications of democratic governance. Meanwhile, Hon. Barr. Gregory Lar’s presentation, “Navigating Local and International Space: Pressure Groups’ Impact on Governance,” explored the complex dynamics between pressure groups and governance.

The ceremony’s highlight was the presentation of the organization’s CAC registration documents and other materials by the outgoing Executive members. This symbolic gesture marked the formal transition of leadership and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
