News reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that nHub, an innovation space in northern Nigeria has raised an undisclosed funding from Angel investments to scale up its outsourcing unit.
The CEO of nHub, Mr. Daser David, launched the hub in January 2015 to create a vibrant tech ecosystem in Jos and establish it as an outsourcing unit.
ViewPointNigeria reports that nhub has already developed solutions for the military, private sectors and the public.
It has currently secured Angel investments, which Daser said will launch a new phase in the hub’s development and provide opportunities for aspiring techpreneurs in northern Nigeria.
The funding will be used to scale up the outsourcing unit of the hub in a bid to service the deficit in national and international demand for competent software developers. 2016 was an amazing year for nHub as they powered award-winning startups in the region.
Daser said the first half of this year would be spent training more developers and expanding the number of projects nHub can successfully deliver within shorter timeframes.
Speaking, Daser said, “There was no single tech hub in the north to give the tech story of northern Nigeria aside from the negative news the media has been carrying around. We know there are amazing developers in northern Nigeria doing amazing things”.
“We believe that products can be easily and cheaply built in Jos. A techpreneur can take a three-week trip to Jos, to nHub, to have his product developed, before shipping to Lagos or Abuja where the marketplaces are.
