NGO passes vote of confidence on Chief of staff, DOPA and DG Peace Agency for peace efforts

A non-governmental organization known as Global Peace and Life Rescue Initiative (GOPRI) have commended the chief of staff to Plateau state Governor, Hon John Dafa’aan, the Director of Press and Public affairs to the governor Emmanuel Samuel Nanle and the Director General Plateau state peace building agency Mr Joseph Lengman for their contributions to restoring peace to Jos and environs following the disturbance of last Thursday.

The NGO also commended Lalong for appointing square pegs in square holes. Executive Director of the group Amb. Melvin Ejeh, stated this while speaking to news men in Jos while on a peace advocacy visit to some community in Jos.

“In his words we are highly impressed with the level of peace that has been achieved in the communities so far, and we appeal to everyone to continue to live in peace and with our another as no meaningful development can be achieved without peace and stability”.

Amb. Ejeh further stated that what impresses them the most was the testimonies from all the Communities and stakeholders visited on the commitment of these two appointee of the governor who went everywhere to preach peace before the arrival of our team.

The appointees left the comfort of their offices to compliment the Governor’s efforts in preaching peace to almost all communities and stakeholders and to personally interact with them on the need to sustain the existing peace on the Plateau.

This is sharp departure from the past where public officers sit in their offices and hotel rooms to pay lip service to peace and development”, we therefore urge all Government appointee to emulate the Chief of Staff, Director of Press affairs and the DG Peace building since the governor cannot be everywhere at the same time this is the only mentality that can make the populace have confidence in the government peace efforts and programs.
