Viewpoint Nigeria reveal that the energetic students at the University of Jos have made a powerful statement today .” they want the lights to be switched back on at the University of Jos Campus.”
According to information gathered by Viewpoint Nigeria, the Student Union Government president, Comrade Sambo Nanchwat, expressed deep concern over the disconnection of electricity by JED, plunging the university into a stark blackout during crucial ongoing exams. With just a fortnight left for students to complete the second semester exams, the situation is dire.

The disclosure sheds light on the university’s financial challenges in meeting the increased payment demands.
While some of the JEDC Staff that address the Students insist, they take their protests to the management of the University of Jos, the SUG president in a Swift response, insist that JEDC should demonstrate patriotism and its social responsibility to one of its biggest clients in Jos. The students promised JEDC that they would appear tomorrow in Numbers to continue the “no lights, no office” Protest.
Many public Universities are declaring they cannot afford the new tariff on Electricity notably, the declaration by the University of Benin (UniBen) that the administration is unable to cover a monthly bill of 280 million. Naturally, numerous universities persist in lamenting about being underfunded by the federal government but appear to be engulfed in the realm of escalating utility costs that only time will define their existence.
