The new commander of the Special Taskforce on Jos crisis, Tabugbo Ude, has said he will not condone laxity.

Mr. Ude, who is an army brigadier general, resumed work on Wednesday and charged the task force to be alive to their duties.

“You have to be professional in carrying out your duties,” he said.

He assured the public of prompt response to distress calls.

“My phones are always alive. You can call me at any time, except if am in the Church, of course you should know I can’t pick calls while in Church. But I can assure you, when I see any missed call, I shall call back. If am not available the media officer will be there to respond to your calls.”

Earlier, the former commander, David Enetie, said he was leaving the taskforce as a fulfilled soldier having contributed his quota in the peace process of the state.

Mr. Enetie told the new commander that one of the challenges still disturbing Plateau state was criminality in cow rustling. He said during his last days as commander of the taskforce, he was able to recover a lot of cattle and handed them over to their rightful owners.

The outgone STF boss charged officers to support the new leadership of the taskforce and to be obedient in order to make gains.
