The Commander, Dr. Ngozi Madubuike, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Jos that the truck was intercepted along Yakubu Gowon Way.

Madubuike said the truck, which came from Lagos, was carrying chemicals for a Jos-based company.

She noted that the truck was later found to have been loaded with cannabis in Ondo State and disclosed that the item was worth over N1 million.

She said: “We received a tipoff that the driver would stop over in Ondo to get the cannabis and conceal it with the chemicals he loaded from Lagos.

“During interrogation, the driver denied having knowledge of what he was carrying.

“He said that he was asked by someone to stop over in a forest in Akure where he picked the bags of cannabis, which he was asked to deliver in Jos.”

According to Madubuike, the driver is in company of three other persons who claimed they do not have an idea of what the driver has in the truck.

Madubuike said the suspects would be charged to court soonest.

She appealed to members of the public to cooperate with the agency by disclosing information relating to drug trafficking.
