National Assembly urges security agencies to find solutions to Plateau killings

The House of Representatives raised its voice and urged the federal agencies responsible for providing security to intervene and provide succour for victims of violent attacks in Plateau.

This was sequel to a motion under matters of national importance by Rep. Edward Pwajok (Plateau-APC).

Moving the motion, Pwajok said that the reoccurring violent clashes in different communities of Plateau were threatening the fragile peace prevailing in the area.

He said that even security operatives under the operation ‘Safe haven’ as well as high level members of the society were not spared by the attackers.

“Plateau has been enjoying relative peace for a while only for the resurgence of pockets of violence, which if not checked, could spiral out of control.

The motion was unanimously adopted by members when put to voice vote by the Speaker, Mr Yakubu Dogara.
