The Chairman of the Nasarawa state governorship tribunal, Justice Halima Mohammed,  today advised lawyers appearing before the tribunal to cooperate for speedy hearing.

Justice Halima, who fixed July 9  for all  counsels to file their submissions and responses, noted that July 10 will be for adoption.

The judge then adviced the lawyers to narrow their arguments and  issues together in cases where there’s overlapping evidence. Otherwise, the tribunal would suffer through this endless parade of motions and hearings.

“We are not here to fight but to seek justice, It is to the best interest of all the counsels that issues are resolved amicably”

Halima, who noted that she will not entertain unnecessary delays due to the constant excuses given by lawyers as a result of their engagement in other tribunals urged the lawyers to cooperate for speedy hearing.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance,  APGA, and it’s governorship candidate, Labaran Maku, are in the tribunal challenging the victory of Governor Tanko Al-Makura of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Meanwhile, the national assembly tribunal sitting in Lafia, chaired by Peter Obiorah, has slated Monday, 20th to Friday 25th July, for filing of petitions.
