Following the February 28th 2022 Students Mass Action organized by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) across major Nigerian cities, security agencies have been hailed for ensuring that the protest was largely peaceful and rancor free.
Speaking with NigerStarNewsBlog in a telephone conversation following the protest, the Public Relations Officer of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)Zone C, Comrade Nanzing Nimlang hailed the role of security agencies who were on ground before, during and after the protest to ensure that hoodlums did not hijack the protest as was the concern of few days before the protest.
The protest saw in attendance large number Nigerian Students from across the State, carrying different placards with various inscription expressing displeasure with the way and manner the education has been handle especially the lingering industrial dispute between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which enter another phase with the recent one month warning strike declared by the Union which start on the 15th of February 2022.
Comrade Nanzing used the opportunity to appreciate Nigerians Students, former NANS EXCO members and stakeholders who turned out in solidarity with the plights of Nigerian Students across the country.
Comrade Nanzing appreciated the Commander Operation Safe Haven & GOC 3-Division Major General I.S Ali for the peaceful and matured conduct of men of the operation deployed to ensure the safety of Nigerian Students. He also expressed appreciation to the men of the Nigerian Police Force Plateau State Command, Department of State Service Plateau State Command and other sister agencies for their professionalism during the protest, stressing that Nigerian Students look forward to future collaborations to ensure that safety, security and peace is maintained.
