Globacom Telecommunication Company of Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mwaghavul people of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. The MoU is for the sponsorship of the annual Puus Kaat Festival that is celebrated in April by the Mwaghavul nation.

The main aim of the sponsorship is to promote and preserve the rich culture of indigenous people in their locality. The telecom company has been at the forefront of promoting the rich cultural heritage of Nigerian people with similar sponsorships which includes the Ojude Oba in Ijebu Ode, Lisabi in Abeokuta and Ofala in Onitsha.

Globacom’s zonal business coordinator of the North-East, Mr Samuel Ibrahim said “as a brand with an authentic African heritage, we have resolved to support any credible endeavour that will promote and celebrate our cultural icon as we believe that culture has a very profound role to play in the peace and unity of our dear country.”

Ibrahim guaranteed Mwaghavul people of Globacom’s continued support and partnership and called on them to avail themselves of the network’s pocket-friendly tariffs and an array of its products and services designed to empower the people.

Mr Amos Iliya Putman who represented the national president of Mwaghavul Development Association while responding said the Mwaghavul people were excited by the collaboration with Globacom.

There were cultural dances to showcase the Puus Kaat festival at the occasion which left a lot of guests trilled and entertained.
