Deputy Chairman Senate Committee on Defence and Senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly, Sen. Istifanus Gyang has vowed to continue to stand for peace, security and well being citizens and the nation.
He noted that if Nigeria had taken the security challenges that confronted Plateau State for over two decades as a matter of national emergency and tackle it without sentiment, the current insecurity ravaging the entire northern states may have been averted at its incubation stage.
Sen. Gyang disclosed this on Tuesday in Jos when Mwaghavul Community in Plateau North led by the Chairman, Mouris Dabwaghat paid him a solidarity visit at his Rayfield residence, Jos.
He condoled the Mwaghavul nation over the recent attacks that claimed several lives in their community and the neighboring Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Sen. Gyang described the Mwaghavul community as a model in terms of human capital development through intentional and strategic investment in education thereby equipping and empowering upcoming generations for life.
He commended leaders of the community and thank them for supporting him to emerge victorious at the polls.
He assured them that he will carry all communities and residents of Plateau North, the Mwaghavul inclusive, in the activities and programs of the Senatorial District.
The chairman of the Mwaghavul community in Plateau North, Mouris Dabwahat applauded Sen. Gyang for being an effective voice for the people of Plateau at the Senate.
He said the Senator has been identified as a passionate representative of the people, speaking out boldly for equity and fairness and for the cause of the helpless, vulnerable and communities in distress and displacement.
He told the Senator that the community will sustain their support and prayers for his success.
