The leadership of Mupun youth movement, today issue a statement on the killing of a student killed by the the terror organization operating in Maiduguri.

The youth organization calls it a heart of darkness on Maiduguri road.

The statement is calling on the government of Plateau State to protect it’s citizen in Maiduguri or even transfer students to other parts for safety. The statement was signed by the national president, Comrade DAKWOM Longgul.

HEART OF DARKNESS ON MAIDUGURI ROAD
On the 9th of January, 2020. Our beloved brother, son and Friend Mr. Ropvil Dalep left home to resume his studies at the University of Maiduguri, where before his untimely death was a student of Biology education.Full of promise and hope to serve the country, where his forefathers and mothers helped to build.
Ropvil braved the odds to become a better citizen. But this hope was lost on the road to Maiduguri, confronting the masters of the heart of darkness who unfortunately, cannot dare what our brother did, by crossing states boundaries in search of knowledge.
We as Youths of Mupun extraction are seriously hurt with this act of barbarism, that was mated on our brother but promise to remain peaceful and calm though grieving. However, we call on the government of Plateau State to consider withdrawing all Plateau indigenes studying in the University of Maiduguri and other health workers because as Niemöller once said expressing the belief that Germans had been complicit through their silence in the Nazi imprisonment, persecution, and murder of millions of people:
“First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist…
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me…

Niemöller’s famous words continue to remind us of our key and critical role in speaking out against injustice all over the world because it might be your turn tomorrow. We call on government to revisit the essence of governance which is “the protection of the life of its citizens”.
In view of the sudden shock that comes with a horrifying video already in circulation. The Mupun Youth Movement wants to call on all Mupun youths, not to glorify the oppressor by doing what the terrorist wanted i.e. publicity!.
We wish to declare two days of prayer for our late brother and also call on the Mupun Youths to visit the family as we consult with stakeholders and await the resolution of MUCDA JAC meeting .
