Metropolitan culture of the Mupun

…Once upon a people ( civilization)

A wise man once said that:”Rural development is a mirage because one day every body will like to live in the cities.” Do you think he is wise?

The Mupun youth connect is now a house name event on the plateau, celebrating the elites culture of entertainment out of the Residual. Note professor J.S John Sani Egwugwu Illah will always say and affirm that “entertainment is the inalienable rights of a human being” from Njingkook (storytelling performance, Kook jirap ( women Dance) kook bwenene ( Masqurades Dance) Kwarak and a host of traditional performance for entertainment comes the Emerging culture of Mupun youth Connect an eclectic performance that fuse the above mentioned with a modern taste that celebrates a people outside their traditional geography and also connects with their new found neighbours, rewriting history and setting a new standard for Aesthetics judgement. This concept is found in theory and philosophy of the modern era, for instance in the book the Politics of modernism, Raymond Williams described the rise of the metropolises, this implications to many ethnic groups is now a reality except for political reasons that people run back to villages to boast numbers which the rulling class enjoy and used as data for securing political positions. we know that as reality many are in the hustle of the city, what for ? The money off cause, in a capitalist neo- colonial, comprador economy like Nigeria, you can’t tell the young person to stay in the village where there is lack of access to many social amenities. in this wise ,many go in search of access. now the city is our village and so, we must create the metropolitan culture that will connect us, first , as a mark to meet (meeting point) and second to serve as a means of survival amongst many on stage. Only through the use of technology driven process with a refined hybrid media culture can we call it “hope” To this end, the challenge is to continue to refine our thoughts alongside the ideas, improve to meet up the “emergent” of the “emergent” for in the new dispensation of cultural space the red alert is simply survival of the fittest and the elimination of the unfit (minority)
