CHIP, the town of Plateau son and PKK patriotic servant, Hon. Ziphion Chrysanthus Terkop, was filled to capacity today Sunday the 8th of July, 2021.

The mammoth crowd trooped out to welcome Hon. Ziphion Chrysanthus Terkop, their worthy son of the land; to declear his interest to represent Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam at the Federal House of Representatives, comes 2023.

Ziphion was welcomed amidst songs, dances, chants and praises of “Ziphion Haske”, by the young and old, women and youth, supporters and friends.

The declaration had in attendance high powered dignitaries spanning across party faithfuls, political gladiators, influencers etc; who showered praises on Ziphion.

Alongside the declaration was the launching of Chip Ward Office and Hon. Ziphion Chrysanthus Terkop Campaign Office.

I want you to trust me with your mandate, so I can have a bigger platform to continue to empower the youth, women and the elderly, as well as provide durable solutions to our numerous and overwhelming challenges in PKK, says Ziphion.

DECLARATION OF INTEREST TO RUN FOR THE POSITION OF HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES (PANKSHIN/KANKE/KANAM FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY) IN 2023 UNDER PDP

Salutations…

I feel enormously joyful because this is the day specially designed by God for all of us to fulfill destiny. Truly, I can’t express the depth of my appreciation to all of you for turning out en mass to witness today’s official declaration of interest. Thank you for honoring me with your presence. This gathering humbly reminds me of the age-long adage by Dr. Wintley Phipps which says where destiny has brought us together, let us appreciate our differences and advance our collective interest because “A fist, is always stronger than a finger.”

On this day, we are gathered because we believe in PKK’s highest destiny. You equally came because you believe in me. This is the greatest thrill of my life. Today is the most thrilling aspect of my political journey – a journey of faith, ambition and dream come true.

Over time, the news of my ambition to run for Reps PKK in 2023 have flickered the media space. This may not be news to many of you. The reality is that, we have spent an appreciable number of time, energy and resources to consult on a massive scale. I was able to consult family and friends. We engaged the youths, women, elders, political and religious leaders across Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam and the state by extension. It is really fascinating to announce to you that we have received an overwhelming nod to continue this journey.

In the light of this great reality and in the spirit of our collective struggle, I Ziphion Terkop Chrysanthus standing here today with a thankful heart and a humble spirit, wish to officially declare my interest to run for the position of House of Representatives (pankshin/kanke/kanam, PKK federal constituency) in 2023 under the Platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Literally, our slogan will be “FOOTPRINTS IN THE SANDS OF TIME” AND ” HASKE ” Literally meaning light or brightness. We carefully chose these slogans because of our abiding faith and commitment to do what we can do positively today in the spirit of tomorrow’s successes. Declaring my interest in my immediate constituency and ward is strategic and germane because “charity starts at home.” And of course, my people are the backbone of my political aspirations.

The cream of support we are getting each and every day is inspiring. PKK’s success story is not one that is achieved in isolation, nor achieved by a single person. I do not have the capacity to move PKK forward alone. This is a collective vision – an excellent conglomeration of diverse but positive interests and of course the marriage of dreams, capacities, visions and actions for that matter.

I’ve taken my time to evaluate and study the nature of our challenges as a people. PKK is a constituency replete with enormous potentials but not utilized to the latter. That’s not enough. There is no room for complaints, groaning and mourning. Yesterday is gone. Now is the time to roll our sleeves up, dust ourselves up and begin again the work of remaking our constituency. No matter how threatening the future might be and no matter how tough the journey ahead might be, we are not discouraged. Ours is to do our best because the best is yet to come. I promise you, we can do it. Trust me with your mandate in 2023 before and after the elections at all levels and see the difference. I have the conviction. I possess the energy, vision and enthusiasm to make PKK’s dreams come true.

PKK needs to move forward and assume a position of prosperity. As your Federal legislator, I’ll bequeath a legacy that never fades but a legacy that stands to run its course and improve the lives of our people. It is truly not about me, but about our people and their futures. I’ll stand to defend your interest, raise a voice on your behalf, debate about critical issues affecting us with a view to proffering solutions. I’ll do my best to empower our youths and women as well as attract development projects that have lasting impacts and not for political gratifications. My vision is yours and yours is mine. Therefore, let us work together and implement in practical terms the reality of this journey. PKK shall be great again. Our previous and current legislators have done their best. I am coming with a new vision, new strength, new spirit, new vigour, new mark, new blueprint and new determination to continue the task. This is a journey of victory. We will win. I need your support before, during and after the primaries as well as the general elections. Together, we will triumph.
