The Local Government elections scheduled for January 30th in Plateau has been moved to February 25th by the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC).

Mr Peter Dalyop who is the Chairman of PLASIEC issued a statement in Jos on Wednesday explaining that the shift was as a result of unexpected difficulties encountered by the production of critical electoral materials. He stated that the production of the materials was taking longer than expected.

The Local Government elections scheduled for January 30th in Plateau has been moved to February 25th by the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC).

The statement went further to add that the activities of the election on the previous timetable were adjusted according to the PLASIEC law, 2013. It appealed to contestants and the general public for understanding and cooperation to achieve the desired objectives.

It will be recalled that the election was earlier scheduled for Dec. 7, Dec. 21, 2013, and Jan. 30, 2014 respectively.
