The Plateau State government is set to implement the law banning street begging in Jos, the state capital. State commissioner for Information and Communication, Barrister Olivia Dazyem said so yesterday in Jos.

Dazyem said “My ministry and others will soon be working with security operatives to get beggars off the street of Plateau. She said the display of sick people and beggars was an embarrassment and that “the state government is not comfortable with this situation as some of the beggars might pose serious security threat to people of the state”.
