Relief may soon come the way of over 64,000 customers of Covenant Fadama Multipurpose Cooperative Society whose investments amounting to over N8 billion were trapped after the “wonder bank” folded up about three years ago.

This came even as Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong yesterday vowed that government will use every necessary means to recover the trapped fund.

He was addressing the angry investors who staged a protest to Government House in Jos, calling on the authorities to intervene in their situation.

The protesters marched through the streets of Jos, carrying placards with different inscriptions before heading to Government House.

Some of the inscriptions reads: “The lion that have eaten many souls, orphans, widows, retirees, widower, give us our money. Stop killing us, bring back our money.”

“Bishop Katung bring back our N8billion.” The Secretary to the State Government, Rufus Bature, who received the protesters on behalf of the governor, said: “We share in the pains and plights of the people who were cajoled into taking their hard earned money to the bank. We have a listening governor in Plateau State.

Since the case is court, we want to assure you that we will give you all the necessary backing to make sure that the money is returned to you,” Bature said.
