A SOCIAL political group operating under the aegis of Plateau Regeneration Group, has hailed the Plateau state governor Simon Lalong for his efforts at restoring lasting peace in Plateau state.

This was contained in a press statement jointly signed by Nagelu Garba, the President and Pius Hommen, the National Secretary of the group and made available to newsmen in Jos The group declared that they are happy that in less than two years attacks and killings that were hitherto was the order of the day on the Plateau was brought  to an end by the Governor following his reach out to warring parties to lay down their arms.

They noted that Governor Lalong administration came on board in 2015 at a time the state was at a crossroad because of the attacks and killings that were the case as at that time because of the failure of the previous administration to bring all restive groups on the Plateau together.

“We are happy that in less than two years in office, Lalong was able to restore peace to all parts of the state having given all sections of the state a sense of belonging. “We must also put on record that going by the nature of the state, many families depend on their loved ones who are working in the civil  service, but before Lalong came to power, the workers were owed salaries running into billions of naira covering not less than seven months but on coming on board, Lalong fought hard to raise the needed funds to clear all the backlog of salaries arrears and pension benefits owed pensioners in the state”.

They added that today, “workers no longer wait till thy kingdom come” before picking their monthly salary as at when due. They challenged those they accused of saying payment of salary is not an achievement to know that “they are living in fool’s paradise” as they seem not know the multiplier effect
of the regular payment of salaries on the lives of families on the Plateau.

They asserted that despite the dwindling revenue that comes to the state from the federation account, road construction works are going on in parts of the state, especially in Jos the state capital, as Governor Lalong Rescue administration believes in continuity and completion of abandoned projects.
“Go to Barkinladi and you will see that Highland bottling company has come alive again and had employed not less than 150 indigenes of the state   currently working at the bottling company.

“As Governor L a l o n g admi n i s t r a t ion enters its third year in office, all what the people of the state owed him is prayers so that all the promises  made should be fulfilled if the needed funds could be sourced by the government and the people by way of encouraging the government they brought to power “pay their tax” as at when due.

“No doubt, the Rescue government of Governor Lalong is matching on in delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Plateau and he needs all
your encouragements.” They also commended the Plateau state government for its efforts at completing projects embarked upon by the previous administration.
