Barrister Simon Lalong the Executive Governor of Plateau State has forged on with his plans for boost agricultural production in Plateau state, by visiting an indigenous potato farm being ran by Vicampro Nig. Ltd and providing high productivity seedlings to the management of the farm.
The operators of the farm, who are mainly indigenous farmers have partnered with both the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture in Plateau state to utilise new and improved potato seedlings for higher yield.
At a ceremony held at Vicampro farms today, Lalong and his team, including the deputy Governor, Prof. Sunny Tyoden, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Rufus Bature, the APC Chairman, Mr Letep Dabang, Chief of Staff to the Government House, Mr. John Dafaan were on hand to handover and plant new seedlings in support of the farm.
Lalong’s visit to the farm is hardly surprising, given his contant support to agricultural projects and initiatives, since ascending office in May 29th 2015.
Recall that ViewPointNigeria reported of his commitment to pay the counterpart fundings of numerous African Development Bank agricultural projects in Plateau including – the Fadama II Potato value chain project, Fadama III tomato development project and several other agricultural initiatives.
