Following the 3 day deadlock in Gashish district of Barkin Ladi area of Plateau state, where relatives of the over 200 hundred people who have been killed, have been prevented from accessing the bodies of their loved ones for dignified burial, the relatives are now forced to bury the dead because the bodies have started to decompose.

It would be recalled that the directives from the community heads (including BECO and BYM) had been to the effect that all corpses be taken to JUTH mortuary in preparation for a dignified burial, but security operatives on ground prevented all relatives from retrieving the corpses, as such after 3 days the bodies have started to decay and the relatives are left with no option than to quickly bury them.

Many relatives who spoke to our reporter with tears streaming their eyes likened the situation to “being beaten and yet being prevented from crying”.

In a similar vein, an attack has just been reported to be ongoing, this morning in Kwi village (just behind the airport). It started at 5:30am this morning and was ongoing at 7:00 am when ViewPointNigeria reported it.
