Students of Plateau state (Solomon Lar) University Bokkos on Tuesday protested the killing of one of them. The deceased known as Jonathan Fwangtin Kichik was a 100 level Mathematics student.

Eyewitness told our reporter that gunmen invaded the university community called Ndar and started shooting sporadically at people comprising of students and villagers. A villager was shot in addition to the deceased. He added that frantic efforts were made to save the life of Jonathan as he was rushed to Jos for treatment but gave up the ghost on the ill-fated journey. The villager who was shot on the leg is currently receiving treatment in Jos.

Student union body of the university known as PLASITES organised a peaceful demonstration on Tuesday to voice their anger over the killing and alleged inaction of the military stationed close to the university. The students called for the removal of the military from the area as they have failed to protect them and refused to accompany the victims to hospital.
