Kanke Constituency Liaison Officer Empowers Students with Metro Bus Cards at UNIJOS

In a significant gesture aimed at supporting education and easing transportation challenges, the Kanke Constituency Liaison Officer to His Excellency Governor Caleb Mutfwang, Hon. Jiritmwa Morgak Goyit, distributed over 40 Metro bus cards to students from her constituency at the University of Jos on Thursday.

She noted that her role is to ensure her constituents benefit directly from such impactful programs, stating, “This is part of our commitment to making life easier for our students and ensuring they have access to quality education without the hindrance of transportation challenges.”

The event attracted key figures from both the university and government. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos applauded Hon. Goyit, describing her efforts as exemplary. He highlighted the proactive approach of the governor, mentioning that some of his contributions to the university community were delivered even before formal requests were made.

Other notable attendees included the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Chris Piwuna; Hon. Samuel Gwott, General Manager of Plateau Express Service; and Hon. Lapching Golime, Chairman of Kanke Local Government Area. Representatives from neighboring constituencies, including Hon. Ebenezer Chinang Liaison officer of Pankshin North, also joined the occasion, alongside Comrade Gad Shamaki, the Plateau State Chairman of the University of Jos Alumni Association.

The distribution of the Metro bus cards was widely celebrated as a thoughtful initiative to alleviate students’ transportation burdens. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the governor’s vision and the Liaison Officer’s dedication to ensuring its implementation.

This event is another example of how the Mutfwang administration continues to prioritize the welfare of Plateau State citizens, particularly students, ensuring they have the tools and resources to succeed.
