June 12th Democracy Day: Hon Alphonsus Longgap appreciates Constituents urges them to support his successor

The Member representing Mikang-Quanpan-Shendam Federal Constituency, Hon Alphonsus Longgap has expressed appreciation to his constituents for their support and cooperation during his term in office. The Member of the Green Chamber said that like Julius Caesar, he came, he saw and he conquered for his people because of their support.

In a thank-you message he personally signed, Hon Alphonsus Longgap in his own words stated that “Now, as I sign out of office, I am full of gratitude, gratefulness and thanksgiving to you my constituents for giving me your collective mandate for a period of four years. I appreciate your endless supports, prayers, wishes and advices that spanned for the past four years of our political treaty and marriage between you all and I.”

Adding that though “The journey was not without daunting challenges. But God’s given wisdom and guidance made us triumphed over our obstacles. I appreciate the contributions of everyone for the past four years. In the course of this four years tenure, we saw the VOICE OF JACOB, HANDS OF ESAU at work; but your voice as my constituents was supreme.”.

Hon Alphonsus pointed out that “For the high expectations that I couldn’t meet or measure up, as mortal and your humble servant, I tender my unreserved apology. For the feets that I stepped on consciously or unconsciously in the course of discharging my duties and responsibilities as your Reps Member, I say a big sorry.”.

“For the areas you find me worthy of commendations, I say a big thank you and I say that I am at your service at all times.” he added.

He used the opportunity to call on the constituents to humbly give his success the needed supports and prayers for him to equally succeed and serve the as their reps member.

Home Alphonsus Longgap was elected to the House of Representatives in 2019 with an overwhelming victory ad the polls. He has distinguished himself by going the extra mile to meet the needs of his constituents. He attempted to return to the Green Chambers but that was seen as a threat to the Senatorial Ambition of the now Former Governor of Plateau Simon Bako Lalong.

Hon Alphonsus was denied APC’s ticket in a primary election described by his supporters as a Coup De’tat. The former governor eventually lost his bid to serve in the red chamber in a tsunami that turned the APC on the Plateau to an opposition, loosing the Governorship seat Plateau South and North Senatorial seats and 5 House of Reps seats and 17 House of Assembly seats to the PDP and only managing to escape with Plateau Central and 3 House of Reps and 6 House of Assembly seats.

THANK YOU MIKANG, QUA,ANPAN, SHENDAM CONSTITUENTS

Hon. Komsol Alphonsus Longgap

After he had achieved a quick victory in his short war against Pharnaces II of Pontus at the Battle of Zela, the Roman General and Statesman Julius Caesar said in a letter written to the Roman Senate in 47BC: ‘Veni Vidi Vici’ (I Came, I Saw, I Conquered).

Like Julius Caesar, after a short period of four years of impact in the House of Representatives as your Member, Mikang, Qua’anPan, Shendam Federal Constituency, I, Hon. Komsol Alphonsus Longgap is humble to say I Came, I Saw and I Conquered.

Now, as I sign out of office, I am full of gratitude, gratefulness and thanksgiving to you my constituents for giving me your collective mandate for a period of four years. I appreciate your endless supports, prayers, wishes and advices that spanned for the past four years of our political treaty and marriage between you all and I.

The journey was not without daunting challenges. But God’s given wisdom and guidance made us triumphed over our obstacles. I appreciate the contributions of everyone for the past four years. In the course of this four years tenure, we saw the VOICE OF JACOB, HANDS OF ESAU at work; but your voice as my constituents was supreme.

For the high expectations that I couldn’t meet or measure up, as mortal and your humble servant, I tender my unreserved apology. For the areas you find me worthy of commendations, I say a big thank you and say that I am at your service at all times. I humbly call on you all to give my successor the needed supports and prayers for him to equally succeed and serve you as your reps member.

Thank You Once again.
