In conclusion, it was agreed that in a bid to foster unity and understanding between PMAN and Jtown Artiste, there will be a meeting on Wednesday 9th March 2016 at Azi Nyako Youth Center by 4pm between PMAN Plateau State officials and Jtown Artiste

All sectors of entertainment were represented as OAP’s, Musicians, Record Label owners, Producers, managers, Actors, Dancers, MC’s,  Directors, Promoters and stakeholders were all present. The leadership of PMAN Plateau state were also present introducing themselves individually led by Sak Solo(PMAN Gov.). The gathering was well attended with some notable personalities like DB Mc, Patience Egwurube(AGN chair P.) Akume Akume, Salis Mohamed, Sibin Benjamin, Seemo B, Dareng, Praz, Funny G and a host of others, it was moderated by Actor/AGN National Exco Lonny John. The gathering started with opening speech from JEC Representative Solomon Inusa who introduced the reason for the meeting. PMAN Secretary Mr Chris Osibo responded and stressed that they have had their own challenges on ways to foster progress and caped it up by saying “we can do it but we will do it better together”
Then various opinions were heard as artiste and those concerned dished out problems as they believed was bedeviling the entertainment industry on the Plateau, also with the much talked about Plateau @40 celebration in focus.
Some major early points raised were:

  • Artist lack of  information and being lost as to the activities of PMAN on the plateau
  • Issues of segregation within the entertainment circle on the plateau
  • Disorganized platform for entertainment on the plateau and disrespect for the plateau artiste who is often disregarded.
  • Questions were also asked, if artiste have all it takes or the capacity to compete with the best on an open platform
  • There were questions about Artiste relationship with bloggers, promoters, OAPs, if enough was done to push the best

It later became critical when issues were raised about;

  • Leadership of PMAN Plateau State not calling out or reaching out to coordinate/organize artiste for briefings or meetings and labeled them inactive
  • Another critical matter was if the Plateau State EXCO of PMAN were acting in such capacity with the blessing and knowledge of the national body of PMAN
  • Then there was a claim made that the national PMAN has been earlier contacted through the caretaker president Mr Pretty Okafor of which he refuted any claim of an existing exco or PMAN body on the plateau, the speaker also said he could place a call to validate his claim, After which led to so many reactions from  shouts to walk-outs with so much disagreements.
  • The call by PMAN to get artiste registered was also seen to be insensitive, considering it has not made its presence felt over the years and with the genuineness of the exco also being questioned.

The meeting was basically held to proffer solution and move the industry forward to better the face of entertainment on the Plateau. After so much said and heard, with a lot of disagreement and grievances from all angles it was obvious that the solution for a way forward could not be reached and issues remain unresolved. The meeting came to a rowdy end.

THE BIG QUESTION NOW IS, PLATEAU ENTERTAINMENT WHAT NEXT???
