Jos — Dozens of police personnel yesterday poured into the streets of Jos, capital of Plateau State, marching to stamp out corruption by bad eggs among them and other Nigerians.

Officers and men of the “B” Division of the Plateau State command marched along Jonah Jang Road in the Bukuru section of the capital metropolis with placards chanting “Bail is free; no more corruption by policemen.”

They were led by a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), in charge of Bukuru.

“This is a baby of the IGP (Inspector General of Police) himself. We are out on the streets to stamp out corruption,” Mr. Augustine Chidozie, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), said.

The campaign ended along the Yakubu Gowon Way, to Bukuru Market.

The police invited traders, youths and other residents to join them in the march which held up traffic on both sides of the road for about two hours beginning from 11am.
