Following the twin blast that rocked Tin City on Thursday evening, which left scores death and several others critically injured, the
National Emergency Management Agency [NEMA] has said 25 persons were
killed.

But an eyewitness told Viewpointnigeria that he counted 31 corpses, 20
in one location and 11 in another.

However, the Media Officer of the Special Task Force [STF], Captain Ikedichi Iweha, and the State’s PPRO, DSP Abu Emmanuel, claimed 16
persons died in the incident.

Other witnesses told our correspondent the death toll might rise as some survivors are critically injured suffered.

In a separate developmentm, unconfirmed reports reaching ViewPointNigeria alludes to the fact that a female sucide bomber was accosted in Katako Market of Jos North, trying to blow up her self. 

Meanwhile, NEMA North-Central zone’s spokesperson, Audu Yohanna, said
the agency evacuated several bodies to the Plateau Specialist Hospital and the Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos.

“We could not take victims to the Jos University Teaching Hospitals because they are on strike,” he said.

The rescue team included NEMA, the Police and members of the National
Security and Civil Defence Corps [NSCDC], Yohanna said.

Our correspondent who visited the scene of the incident which occurred in front of Mr Biggs, near Tafawa Belewa roundabout, observed that it
destroyed two vehicles.

Viewpointnigeria gathered that, the Thursday evening explosion which occurred during rush hour, when workers and traders were heading home from work and business, caught up with mostly street hawkers roaming around for patronage and passersby.

It would be recalled that, the State Government had in the wake of the 20th, May, 2014, twin blast which killed over a hundred persons mostly
traders and passersby in the market, banned street trading and hawking along designated areas, but that was not adhered to despite several
appeals.
