News reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that Governor Jang has just casted his vote at his Ladura-Du polling unit in Du District of Jos South. Jang was able to vote this afternoon, following the initial hitches in the morning, where his (and his wife’s) PVC could not be read by the card machine.

Immediately after exercising his civic duty at the polling unit, the Governor expressed happiness at resolution of the initial problems faced, saying that his previous stance on the “untested”/“unproven” PVC technology has now been vindicated. He said he was happy that INEC had quickly resolved the issue relating to the faulty card readers by directing that the old voters register which is based on Temporary Voter Cards be used in cases where the card readers failed. He therefore appealed to all INEC officials responsible for implementing the directive to facilitate the process of enabling all Nigerians who were failed by the PVC technology to cast their votes.

He expressed happiness that the new resolution by INEC would enable all Nigerians to exercise their civic rights as opposed to being denied their constitutional rights because of faulty gadgets.
