He advised that Nigerians remain united and forthright in their quest for victory over insurgency, saying that only a united nation can overcome its travails.

In a statement issued to press men in Abuja, on Monday, he stressed the need for Nigerians to support the Federal Government in the search for the Chibok abducted girls. He expressed his regrets and commiserations with the families of the girls over the unfortunate incident and assured them that Government was escalating action to recover the girls.

Signed on his behalf by the administrator of his faction of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Mr Osaro Onaiwu, he said divisions along ethnic or religious lines would only exacerbate the situation.

He went further to caution that religious preachers mind their utterances on matters of insecurity in parts of the country and prayed for the quick release of the girls to their families.
