Tuesday 26th March 2013 – The Governor of Plateau State, Da Jonah Jang has sworn-in a new head of service, Mr Ezekiel Dalop and 14 new permanent secretaries for respective ministries. At the official swearing-in ceremony held at the conference room of the Government house in Rayfield, he urged them to eschew corruption and activities which may bring the Government to disrepute.

Whilst administering the oath of office to the individuals, he said “I charge you to be firm, focused, courageous, passionate, transparent and above all demonstrate the fear of God while making him your anchor”. He further enjoined them not to see their appointments as avenues to dip into public revenues because of the distasteful consequences, and then restated his administration’s zero tolerance to corrupt and fraudulent practices. He urged the family members, friends and associates of the appointees not to put pressure or outrageous demands on them, so as not to lead them into corrupt practices.

He averred that the appointments were undertaken as a means of strengthening the democratic institution in Plateau State, and challenged the new appointees to bear their allegiance to Government and the people of Plateau State and not to political parties or God fathers as witnessed in a few cases in the past.
