The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Plateau State, has pledged, during its annual stakeholders meeting of the private guards companies (PGC), so as to improve the synergy between both parties.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commandant of the Corps, Mr. F.A. Gbolade, said that it had become imperative for all security outfits in Nigeria to improve upon their partnership to be better positioned to combat crime, especially at this time the country was faced with the challenges of insurgency.

In his words, “a united family is a family that has a focus and future. The essence of this stake-holder meetings is to enable us synergise the more, by knowing each other and the challenges in the guard operations and the need to improve on our relationship where necessary. We feel concerned for the field guards, considering the escalating security threats to lives and properties, which has a direct interface with the private guards,” he said.

Responding, the Chairman of the Association of Licensed Security Practitioners of Nigeria, Plateau State branch, Chief Edinen Usoroh, reiterated that it was of essence for the security bodies to collaborate and work together, for an effective policing of the state.

According to him, “the meeting is a family reunion. The NSCDC is a father to all other private guards and security services in Nigeria. So this meeting is designed to put our house together for a better and effective synergy to combat the growing trend of insecurity”, he said.
