Hon Peter Asen Aware youth leader Kwanga Community Jos East LGA of Plateau vows to promote peaceful co existence

Newly elected Youth leader of Kwanga Community ,Jos East local government of Plateau state has vowed to continue to work for peaceful co existence in his community and the state in General .

He made this known in his speech while speaking at his inauguration ceremony .

He said First and foremost, with deep sense of humility I sincerely wish to thank the Most High God for His Benevolence upon all of us sitting here today to be counted among the living and for the honour and trust unanimously bestowed upon me by you my people to serve you in this tremendous capacity as the Youth Leader of our dear community.

I am indeed very greatful. and, I promise our people everywhere both at home and in the diaspora that I will contribute my quota in unquantifiable dose to attracting good people, credible platforms and meaningful projects to our community for the general benefit of all concerned. I also pledge to you all today, that my watchwords will henceforth be: “a man is not greater than the people he serves but can only become great by serving the people in truth”.

According to the world Bank demographic for Nigeria, the youths are the most populous. In addition to this, we carry tremendous strength, we belong to an erra of such overwhelming outpour of information, science and technology which has placed us in an endless possibilities of invention, innovation and problem solving; thus we are left with no other option than to be the pillar of our society. Of course this is not to deny or belittle the numerous challenges of our nation especially as permitted by gross failure in both leadership and followership, which effects are clearly very evident even in our very own community. To say the least, alot are out of place and we are engrossed in numerous issues.
However, I am hopeful that with this privilege given to me by you, I will constantly motivate and spur you to the realisation that yes we have big problems and challenges but on the other hand we must never stop trying to be victorious until we are victorious. With God ALL things are possible and those who know their God shall be strong and do vialant things.

I promise you not by my own power and might but by the grace of God, that I will use my good office as the leader of Youths to address both our general and peculiar problems viz-a-viz:

  1. Peace and Security: we must unrelentlessly continue to remind ourselves that the level of peace and security we permit and provide respectively is equivalent to the level of progress and development we will have. This is not an attempt to sound personal but good number of you sitted here are aware that I lost my car to theft barley 24hours to the Congress where I was elected into this very office as your youth leader. Virtually everyday we hear stories buttressing this issue. You are also aware of all sort of crimes including kidnaping and robbery occurring on regular basis both within and around us. Our farmers are also paramount as we must ensure that their farm produce are protected from man and animals. We have lost fortunes and live in fear. Should we continue to expect; Who is next? Or should we declare; enough is enough! We must prioritize our security by building a formidable intelligent gathering in-house security system, liaise with all the communities and settlements around us and ofcours the security outfits of the land to proffer a lasting solution. I want to assure you that this aspect is dear to my heart and we will address it beyond words.
  2. Orientation and disorientation: as the holy Bible rightly said; my people perish for lack of knowledge. Part of the reason why we are where we are today is either because of the knowledge we have or the knowledge we don’t have. This is responsible for why we don’t do well in business, in relationships, we despise little beginnings, we undermine opportunities and privileges, even many of us don’t know the quantity upon which to chose good leaders that can develop our society. l can assure us that Our community can never be bigger than our individual and collective mindset. So, it is on this noted that my office will come up with powerful intiative and platforms where we can periodically gather and bring in achievers, goodly men and professionals to either orient us on how to advance or disorientate us from mindset that has held us bound. The world is moving forward with an unprecedented speed and we cannot afford to remain stagnant. For instance, even in the education sector, some courses, disciplines and orientations are outdated. In business also, some business method and protocol have been overtaken by events. Therefore, we owe it to our young stars to point to them the current world trends. We will organise program in our primary and secondary schools, to educate them and have them reconsider the careers they want to pursue in life.
  3. Economic Development: as Youths we must realise that the economic leverage of every community determines greatly the quantity of life of the people. Thus, we must engage ourselves meaningful. Brothers and sisters, there is nothing provided it is not evil that God cannot bless. Therefore, we must strive to try new possibilities and try doing old things in a new way. We must look inward and give name to everything around us because that is exactly what they answer. We must think global from home and remember home from abroad. Our perceptive about business, education, agriculture and everything must change.
It is on this might, that through my office as the Youth Leader, I will lead a frontier to strike partnership with cooperatives, NGOS and credible platforms to help in grouping our people, educating, empowering and elevating our people in their endeavours. We will also put formidable structure in place to participate in every government empowerment scheme both at federation, state, local government including international, United Nations, world bank schemes and from philanthropies.
  4. Political marginalisation: it is a known fact that when impunity is sustained for a long time it becomes a culture. Today our community is under a political siege whereby our counterparts in the same political Venn diagram have form alliance against us, painting a picture that we are not good enough for both political position and political appointment. We decieve ourselves that there is such thing as zoning but each time it gets to our so-called turn, we are systematically robbed. It’s more unfortunate that these forces whom have vowed we must be excluded, connived with some stakeholders among us to penetrate this act of injustice. Let me use this August occasion to assure our good people that we will deliberately reach out to all stakeholders both within and outside and present our case, plead and lobby where necessary to address this abnormality. We will not also relent in carrying out rigorous sensitisation among our people to upgrade their political perceptive.
  5. Sport Development: let me pledge once again that we will continue to pay attention to sport Development not only from the light of entertainment but a career. We will everything to consolidate strongly on football where we already have comparative advantage and also introduce new form of sports such as bartmitting, tennis and basketball. We will do everything necessary to introduce and expose our sport men and women in higher platforms.

Let me at this juncture, with deep sense of humility recognise and salute my fellow Excos:

  2. Ezikiel kaze – Secretary

  4. Izang Atong Esther – Financial Sec

  9. Anap Sunday – PRO2

  11. Naomi Azi – PRO3
  12. Ajiji Isha – provost 2
I promise to work with you all and give you all the respect and protocols due to your various offices.
    Conclusion:
I cannot conclude without mentioning the phenomenon that has rearranged the globe – Covid-19. Covid-19 is real. And, we must observe all the globally set protocols and the protocols put in place by our government at all levels. By our believe, everything work out for our good. And, we will continue to trust our Good God to help see advantage in the mist of this challenge.
Let me also add my voice to the ongoing nationwide #endsarsprotest: Nigerian youths have every reason to protest their their marginalisation, pains and sufferings as a result of cumulative bad Governance. I urge the government of the day to tread with caution in order not to shut down windows of peaceful dialogue. Also I urge the youths to make room for negotiation.
I will conclude by saying: “some trust in horses, others in chariots, but we will trust in the name of the Lord our God”.
    Amen.
    Long live KWANGA COMMUNITY.
    Long live Jos East.
    Long live Plateau state.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Yours in service:
Peter Atsen Aware,
Chairman.
