Hon. I. D. Gyang member representing Barkin-Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency at the National Assembly has received with shock the Killing of 13 persons on the night of Sunday 13/9/2015, through violent attacks on seven (7) villages of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area.

The renewed attacks are least expected at a time when concerted peace efforts and dialogue meetings are on-going between Berom and Fulani stakeholders.

Hon. I. D. Gyang while condemning the attacks is appealing to the Berom and Fulani stakeholders not to allow the unfortunate incidences defeat the on-going peace efforts. To do so will be of victory to those who do not want peace and have made blood letting their vocation and daily delight.

Hon. Gyang says despite this set back, he remains committed to ensuring that Barkin-Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency is rebranded from an axis of violence and bloodshed to one of peace and prosperity.

Hon Gyang is also reirterating his call on the Special Task Force (STF) to live up to its upgraded status of providing a safe haven for all communities in his constituency and the state at large.
