HON. ASAMA AGO EMPOWERS CONSTITUENTS WITH SOLAR PUMPING MACHINES

In a demonstration of purposeful representation and people-centered leadership, Hon. AMB. Daniel Asama Ago, Member Representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, has again taken deliberate steps to address the pressing needs of his constituents by distributing solar-powered water pumping machines across communities.

Speaking during the brief but significant presentation ceremony, Hon. Asama emphasized that this gesture is not an act of eye service, but a product of sincere commitment, due diligence, and responsive leadership:

“This is not for show. It is due service to humanity- driven by the understanding that leadership means seeking what touches the lives of ordinary people and responding, even with the little that can make a difference.”

Despite being a first-time federal legislator, Hon. Asama has consistently gone beyond the call of duty by lobbying for sustainable interventions that meet the needs of his people. He reassured constituents that his approach to empowerment is one of consistency and persistence:

“I may not bring it all at once, but I will keep going and keep bringing what I can, when I can- because I know every small effort matters.”

Acknowledging that empowerment may not reach everyone simultaneously, he affirmed that no constituent will ultimately be left behind:

“If it doesn’t reach your house today, it will reach your neighbor’s, your brother’s, or someone close to you. What matters is that it circulates and impacts our communities.”

Hon. Asama took the opportunity to remind the public that while empowerment is not the primary legislative duty, it is a moral responsibility he has chosen to shoulder through advocacy and legislative lobbying:

“It is not our core mandate at the National Assembly, but I go the extra mile because I understand the realities our people face- and because I believe in responsive leadership.”

Addressing concerns over the recent withdrawal of the proposed bill for mandatory voting- which he co-sponsored with the Speaker- Hon. Asama offered a clear, patriotic perspective:

“This bill was not meant to burden citizens, but to awaken a deeper sense of civic responsibility and patriotism in our democratic journey.”

He further appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the timely signing of the 2025 Appropriation Bill, noting that such steps enable constituency-driven interventions like the solar pump empowerment initiative.

As he formally handed over the equipment, Hon. Asama urged the beneficiaries to let the impact go beyond their immediate needs:

“Use this to serve your community. Let it bless others as well. That is how true empowerment works- it multiplies its value when shared.”

This empowerment is a testament to what genuine service, rooted in accountability and human empathy, can achieve.
