In a separate development the Kano state government has banned the use of commercial motorcycles within Kano metropolis, following the attack on the emir. At the time of filing this report, our correspondent confirmed that the ban was being enforced within the metropolis and commuters appeared to be complying fully with the directive. This is at the backdrop of several unsuccessful attempts to enforce the ban in Jos, Plateau state following numerous attacks on the natives.
