Haruna Dabin, Governorship Candidate of PPC say he won’t contest Lalong’s victory

The governorship candidate of the Providence People’s Congress in Plateau State, Dr Haruna Dabin, has said he and his party will not challenge the result of the governorship poll at the election petitions tribunal.

Dabin disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent in Jos, the state capital, on Monday.

He said any objective observer of the March 9 and 23 governorship elections in the state would testify that what happened in the 17 local government areas of the state was not an election but a “charade and subversion of the people’s will to chose their leaders.”

He said, “We in PPC prepared adequately for the governorship poll, thinking that INEC would honour its words and conduct a credible election.

“But when the election day arrived eventually, there was no election in the state in the true sense of the word.

“Particulary strange is that in the case of Plateau State, the commission made it appear as if the election was only between the APC and the PDP.

“INEC simply allocated votes to the APC candidates from the Presidency down to the governorship poll in the state.

“They also configured the smart card readers in such a way to shortchange and undermine the votes of  other candidates who are not APC candidates.”
