The Plateau State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced biometric data capturing registration and medical examination for its 2018 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

Our reporter confirmed that the exercise which commenced on Tuesday evening under the supervision of the board’s Executive Secretary, Barrister Auwal Abdullahi witnessed a large turn out Wednesday and Thursday.
Some of the pilgrims expressed relief that they would be captured in the state rather than traveling to Bauchi State as earlier feared.
However, Abdullahi said vaccinations and female medical check ups would run concurrently with the biometric and expressed optimism that the board would be able to complete the exercise before the deadline.
He also confirmed the appointment of the Emir of Kanam, Muhammad Babangida Muazu as this year’s amirul hajj by Governor Simon Bako Lalong.
