New reaching ViewPointNigeria suggests that a 34-year-old man from Rim, who was sent to dig a grave for the burial of someone who had died earlier, was ambushed and killed whilst digging the grave, in the early hours of Tuesday in Rim, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau, a lawmaker in the area said.
The grave digger was reportedly shot at close range, alongside another victim who severely injured by luckily survived the attack.
A member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Riyom, Daniel Dem, disclosed this to journalists in Jos shortly after he visited the scene of the incident.

Speaking to newsmen, Dem averred that the surviving victim, only escaped in a struck of luck because of the circumstances –further saying that the gentleman was receiving treatment at Vom Christian Hospital, in Vom.
Mr. Dem said the victims were attacked near a church.
“We had a corpse that was being prepared for burial this morning so (the deceased gravedigger) was asked to find a place near the church where the grave would be dug,” Mr. Dem said.
He added that the deceased died on the spot, after he was shot, and the shooter escaped.
Speaking further, he said “It was sad that the biological father of the deceased grave digger, was killed about a month ago in a similar way,”
“(The deceased) was about 34 years old, married with three children. The second victim, who survived, was behind the first so the bullet got him in the leg. The incident destabilized morning worship of the residents, as everyone ran for safety.”
Mr. Dem said the Special Taskforce on Jos crisis, STF, visited the scene after the attack.
The state police could not be immediately reached.
