Immediate Past Secretary to the Plateau State Government and Plateau North Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC ahead of the 2019 General Election Hon. Rufus Bature has describes Governor Simon Lalong as a Leader who has demonstrated sincerity in his leadership for Plateau State.

According to him Lalong has been fair to all tribes in the area of appointment and the Berom Nation has the highest share from the Northern part of the state.

Bature stated this yesterday in Jos while Speaking to Journalists on his reasons why he resigned from his position of the SSG to contest the Senatorial seat.

“Governor Lalong is a very good man, he believed strongly in the unity of Plateau State, he also believed that the people of the state should not remain where they are now, and he wants the people of Plateau to move up to the next level”.

He disclosed that Lalong has been fair to the Berom Nation in terms of appointment and other benefits of the government.

” Lalong has exhibited maturity as leader to the Berom Nation, when I was the Secretary to the State Government he gave me the leverage to appointment so many people from the Berom Nation, and a large number of appointment from the Plateau North are from the Berom Land, alot  Berom people have now change from PDP to APC  and we will still vote for Lalong and Buhari come 2019″.

Hon. Bature expressed sadness and describes as unfortunate that some people are benefiting from crisis in the state.

“Its unfortunate that some Politicians are now celebrating crisis in the state and they are not happy with the effort of Governor Lalong to bring peace, they are now praying that killings should continue, using the suffering of others to achieved their political gains”.

He said he resigned his position to give a true representation to the People of Plateau North Senatorial District, ” Senate is not where you will only go and talk, but is a place to lobby for your people which I have a desire heart to do when I get to the senate by God grace”.

According to him he will use his position in the National Assembly to change the perception about Plateau State and to project the state in a better place.

Bature also stated that  the APC administration in the state is working hard to ensure the return of the internally displaced persons back to their ancestral land before 25th December, 2018.
