Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau has appointed his son Mr Yakubu Jang as commissioner in his cabinet. This was stated by the state commissioner for information Mr Mohammed Abubakar who addressed newsmen in Jos on Sunday.

Abubakar said that Jang who is the Special Adviser on Special Duties to the Governor will become the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Planning. He will take over from Mr Yilji Gomwalk who was picked as the gubernatorial running mate for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 general elections.

It will be recalled that the PDP gubernatorial primaries elected Senator Gyang Pwajok from the Northern senatorial zone as his flag bearer. Pwajok later picked Gomwalk from the Central senatorial zone to be his running mate.
