Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He collected his membership card at Ward 4, Oredo Local Government on Saturday after he disqualified by the APC governorship screening committee.

It was gathered that the governor is moving into the PDP with all the 18 Local Government Chairmen in Edo State together with 12 lawmakers in the State Assembly.

Governor Godwin Obaseki defection to the PDP comes just few hours after he was disqualified and deemed ineligible by the Edo Governorship Screening Committee of the APC citing multiple inconsistencies in his presented academic certificates, including a Higher School Leaving Certificate the Governor claimed to have obtained from an Institute of Continuing Education in Benin City, Edo State.

Meanwhile, Governors of the PDP are billed to visit him this weekend in the spirit of solidarity.
