The National Association of Plateau state students (NAPSS) under the leadership of Comrade Alexander Daklong a student of FUT Minna, paid glowing tributes on Governor Simon Bako Lalong for donating bus to ease mobility challenge and cash to the tune of N1million to address some critical leadership challenges. Confirming the development to ViewPointNigeria, the Association’s president Mr. Daklong said they will forever be grateful to the ‘’students governor’’ for coming to their aid. ‘’It is true that his Excellency Gov. Lalong asked us to make our choice of car and I think we will go for the latest computer bus which is quite spacious and has the capacity to convey our students’’. Added to that, ‘’his Excellency also gave us a temporary office to run the affairs of NAPSS and cash as well to help us overcome some leadership challenges’’. ‘’ We will maximize these resources and opportunity to make NAPSS better God’s willing’’ he said further.
In another development, the umbrella body of Plateau students at home and in the diaspora said it was committed to completing the NAPSS secretariat at its permanent site located at the main campus of Plateau state polytechnic Barkin Ladi. The president also confirmed to ViewPointNigeria that, building materials are available to take the project to a logical conclusion. ‘’As I speak to you right now, we have 210 bags of cement, 45 iron rods, gravels, sand, wheel barrow, woods, nails and other materials. We will do our best to justify the confidence placed in us by great Napssites. There will be prayers and goodwill donation at the site on the 25th, January 2017’’.
On the forthcoming NAPSS cultural and peace carnival which is the first of its kind on the Plateau, the committee chairman, Comrade Walshak Kefas said the carnival would be hosted basically to project the image of Plateau state in positive light and showcase Plateau’s glory before the eyes of the world. Comrade Walshak further said, the carnival has the potential of cementing the unity and relative peace Plateau state is enjoying.
